Align Thyself- Intro

“Professor, where do thoughts come from? Are we actually formulating our own thoughts? Or are thoughts the results of the energy perceived around us?” I asked during a lecture on the Prefrontal cortex.“ Well, thoughts are self processed from the blah blah blah...” he responded.

I was lost between Prefrontal Cortex and Cingulate Gyrus. Classic science! answering the hows, hardly the whys.

I began to fixate on his response.

“Well if thoughts are produced by ‘self generating’ pieces of meat, we call the brain, why can’t we create thoughts when we are dead?” I have witnessed a person die! With a person’s last breath, an entity departs from the body; thoughts, feelings, consciousness, willpower, life…gone. What remains is the decaying shell of who we were. Surely, if thoughts were self generating, the brain should continue to formulate thoughts as the heart continues to beat even after death”.

Supposing we are self formulating over 60,0000 thoughts per day as my professor inferred, it would be logical to assume that these positive, negative or neutral thoughts are who we are. However, when we realize that we are perceiving thoughts as our brains receive, and interpret energy, instead of formulating them, we can let these thoughts freely come and go without feeling guilty, wallowing in self doubt, or self loathing.

We have the willpower to sift through these perceived thoughts, focus and execute beneficial thought such as, “I can do it”, “I am a child of God", " I am successful" while disregarding self destructive ones like, “oh, I am such a failure”,  “I will never find love”, “I will not be successful” .

We have the power to align our thoughts to our desired lifestyle.

Neuroscience explains how different parts of the brain function to create memories, crave food, sex, approval, fall in love, and live a life of homeostasis. We know that everything on this Earth is vibrating energy with a mass. Our brains receive this energy  in the form of waves. These waves are transferred to neural impulses faster than the speed of light causing action potentials that allow us to see, hear, taste feel, smell and… perceive thoughts.

Well then, if we only perceive thoughts, where do they coming from?

Stay tuned for part 2
