Align Thyself II


I am freaking out about an upcoming exam…!!! not because I am inept to succeed, but because I have previously failed. 

We have all been there right?.....feeling like we are not good enough because of a previous setback. We hear voices in the deep crevices of our soul whispering to us that we will never be what we aspire to be, crippling our motivation, slowly sucking our will, until we finally accept the lie as truth.

 

The reality is we all experience negative thoughts.

The goal in this piece is to know we are not alone. By becoming aware of the origin of thoughts, we can reign over them, and debunk every deceptive one that blinds us from the reality of who we can become.


We are now choosing to align our actions with purposeful thoughts.


So, where do thoughts come from?


Our Belief systems. As babies, we enter into this world with a set of reflexes that enable us to survive; the rooting reflex, to turn our heads towards stimuli, or the sucking reflex, to take in milk. Everything else from walking, saying “mama” and “dada”, and laughing, was learned by mirroring our caretakers.

From there onwards, we were mentally shaped by the belief systems of our caretakers as they trained us. Hence it is not surprising that our outlook of the world, thoughts, and perceptions are learned from religion, race, culture, agnosticism, and traditions.


Our Environment. We are all a part of cosmic matter; made of the same atoms, coming together to form elements of Carbon, Oxygen, Nitrogen etc. These elements form carbohydrates, proteins, DNA, and lipids that make up our cells, tissues, organ systems, and our bodies. We are literally one with all forms of life on this earth but we are alive in different forms. 

If my basic sciences serve me right, all matter is vibrating, since all atoms vibrate. When vibrations reach a particular threshold, electrons in the atom become excited to do things, so they either absorb, transmit, or retain their excitement. This is what we know as energy; the ability to do. Energy can exist in all forms, it is neither created nor destroyed, but can be transformed from one form to the other; light chemical, motion, mechanical, sound, electricity, heat, nuclear energy etc.


This is the scientific basis of how we are able to be. There is a continuous transfer of energy with matter in our environment so we can see, hear, feel, process information, talk, taste, walk…..live!

Now, when elements are combined with other elements, a reaction can take place to produce another matter. For example, two hydrogens combined with oxygen produces water which is essential for life, however two hydrogens reacting with sulfur is life threatening and causes death. 


Since energy has the ability to give or take away life, do we realize how crucial one’s environment radiating different frequencies of energy is? 


We are constantly releasing and receiving energy from our environment. Even though these transmissions are so infinitesimal that we are not aware of them, our brains are able to process all energy as waves, converting them into neuronal processes that allows us to perceive thoughts, think, see, smell, feel etc. These thoughts when entertained, determine our mood, feeling, vibe or state. Consequently our feelings determine our actions, which eventually become what we do, and ultimately, who we are. It is not then surprising to realize that some environment enable us to thrive, while others stifle the will, motivation, and life out of us. 


We are our environment. This is so amazing!


Our Experiences. Our brain is wired to keep us safe. It is not biased when it comes to protection; be it physical or emotional pain, shame, abandonment, or abuse, our amygdala and hippocampus are wired to remember and resist any form of pain/suffering that likens the one experienced. Sadly, what we resist, persists as energy is neither created nor destroyed but transformed from one form to the other. We end up repeating unhealthy, self destructive patterns, or hiding from who we could be due to fear. I tend to overindulge in food when i’m hiding from myself.

The good news is, we are marvelous beings with the power to reign, change, manifest, and take dominion over everything on Earth including energy, so we can truly live and appreciate the life we choose to live.


Here is a summary on how I reign over my thoughts so they are aligned to my desired actions:


I meditate, I probe, I affirm, I declare, I release, I believe and I do.


Everyday, I sit down for 10 minutes and I let my mind wander (meditation). If a thought occupies my attention, I delve into it. I ask myself, where might this thought be originating from? Is it beneficial or detrimental? how will it enhance my life and others? (probing). When I want the thought to become a reality, I say it out loud and envision it (affirmation). During the day, when I perceive another thought contrary to what I affirmed earlier, I reaffirm what I want manifested (declaration), say it out loud (release), and back it up with the wonderful and true promises I know and have experienced, the word of God (belief). Finally, I take action and begin to manifest the desired thought (doing).

Where attention goes, energy flows...


One thought I have been constantly affirming this year is, “I am prosperous in all that I do”. I declare and re affirm with this promise, “For I know the thoughts I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) What a wonderful promise to receive from a loved one! I must say that I am loving the fruits of being loved by the highest power.

What we believe, we receive…


We have an amazing opportunity in this life to experience, grow, evolve and become whatever we decide to be. By being mindful of our thoughts and reigning over them, we can align them to live purposefully.

We are free, we are loved and we are cared for.
